Hello! I’m Claire and my pronouns are she/her. I’m a Pākehā, queer, neurodivergent counsellor living and working in Wellington. I offer in-person counselling from Wellington’s CBD and online across Aotearoa. I am a registered counsellor, experienced in working with young people, adults and couples/people in relationships.

After gaining a social work qualification in my mid-20s and building a career in the Not-for-Profit sector, I began retraining as a counsellor in 2022. My drivers for doing this work are interwoven with my lived experiences – as an out Rainbow person and fierce ally to Transgender and Intersex people, as a late-discovered neurodivergent person, as a blended-family parent to neurodivergent children.

Prior to developing my own private practice, I spent time counselling at a community organisation and a large private practice. Full Spectrum Counselling reflects my commitment to providing a safe therapeutic space that is empathetic, intersectional and understanding.

For me, there is nothing like the privilege of being entrusted with someone’s story during counselling. I love the process of collaborating with clients to help them deepen understanding and make meaning from their experiences. My style is person-centred and pluralistic, which means I tailor my approach to suit the unique needs of each individual client.

As well as being a counsellor, I’m also a wife, a mum, a step-mum and a dog mum. I am known for my love of good coffee and wild beaches (ideally, both enjoyed at once!).
